First things first, Xi’an is a great city that is worth visiting. It is full of history, but also very modern with lots of young people, fun activities, and great food. After going on a well-planned trip and visiting all those famous landmarks, here’s the feedback of my personal opinion on which places I would recommend and which I wouldn’t.
钟楼&鼓楼 The bell tower & drum tower
Very worth going, and the location is very convenient which has lots of delicious foods around and is close to every where.

秦始皇陵兵马俑 Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang Mausoleum
Worth going, full of sense of history and lots of historical relics that’s worth seeing. However, be aware of the weather the day you go, though it is a museum, it does not have AC, and I feel like I’m dying in the heat wave. Also, it’s worth getting a commentator, they explain a lot. Without the stories, those beautiful relics are just emotionless objects.

西安交通大学 Xi’an Jiaotong University
Not a scenic spot, but a famous top university in China. School tours are only available in the summer and during weekends. If you are not visiting during that time, it’s nothing but a school building seen from the outside.

大雁塔 Great Wild Goose Pagoda
The great view is pretty, but I didn’t visit the inside of the park because the ticket costs. I heard that the Great pagoda and the small pagoda are similar, and you would only want to visit one of them. I would recommend the small one since it’s free.

小雁塔 Small Wild Goose Pagoda
And here’s the small one. Pretty and nice, recommended.

西安博物院 Xi’an Museum
Where the small pagoda is located. The museum is free, but you need to preregister online. The park is pretty big and it makes you feel like you are lakeside in the southern part of China instead of in the North. It’s also really warm in the museum during the summer, which makes people a little uncomfortable, but overall it’s fine.

城墙 City Wall
Very recommended. A very famous and impressive architecture in Xi’an. I recommend going up during sunset; I would say it is one of the best viewpoints in the city to look at the city. The style is completely different when there is sunlight compared to when there isn’t, especially after the lights are on.

Xi’an City – recommended!
